Financial Aid

We know financing your Gap Year is an important part of your decision making process. Our team, together with Lancaster Bible College’s Financial Aid staff, is here to help you every step of the way. We’ll guide you through the available options and help you make the most of federal, state, and institutional aid. While it’s a meaningful investment, we work hard to keep costs low and help students find practical ways to fund their year.

Early Commit Scholarship

The first 5 students to deposit receive a $1,500 scholarship.

Lodestar Mountain Inn Mission Scholarship

$1,500 Scholarship offered to students who have a parent in full-time Christian ministry, who is/have served in the military, or who is a first responder (Fire, Police, or EMS).

Alumni Referral Scholarship*

$500 scholarship to any student who is referred to the Gap Year by an alumnus.

*Alumni must contact Gap Year Staff with student name before application.

$500 scholarship awarded to any student who is referred to the Gap Year by a Gap Year Ministry partner.

*Gap Year Ministry Partners must be approved beforehand and name must be given to Gap Year staff before application.

Sibling Scholarship

$1,000 awarded to students who have a sibling that is an alumnus of the Lodestar Mountain Inn gap year program.

Academic Scholarships

Academic Scholarships are based on the student’s High School GPA or their college GPA if they have completed at least 15 credits at a prior institution. *Transcripts must be received for scholarship to be awarded. GPA qualifications and scholarship amounts are as listed below:
3.9-4.0 - $1,250 scholarship
3.6-3.8 - $1,000 scholarship
3.1-3.5 - $750 scholarship
2.6-3.0 - $500 scholarship
2.0-2.5 - $250 scholarship

Church Matching Scholarship

When a church submits the Church Matching Scholarship Application through LBC’s website with funds towards a student’s tuition, the Gap Year at Lodestar will match up to $500 for both the fall and spring semesters. Funds from the church must be submitted by August 5 (for fall) and December 15 (for spring) in order to be matched.
